29.3.16

In the spotlight: March

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - part 2
I love all the Hunger Games movies with a passion, because 1. I'm a big sister to four younger siblings. I'm very close with all of them (my mom was a stay-at-home mom, so neither of us went to kindergarten) and I'm 11 years older than Julia (my youngest sister), which means I've wiped her butt/dressed her etc. countless times when she was little. It's sort of in the job description, as the oldest, to take care of the younger ones.. What I'm trying to say is that I would sacrifice myself in a heartbeat for any of them - like Katniss. 2. I'm very scared of dying and these movies toy with the idea that we're all going to die one day, regardless of whether we're ready or not. The fact that not even kids are excluded really drives that home for me and 3. I love the romance, the cast and the acting!

Ambition for: April

Since I've had no motivation to watch any movies whatsoever lately, I'm pretty sure this will be another month of failing miserably..

* New Girl - I'm stuck on season 1 and haven't made any progress in a while. Time to rectify that?
* Despicable me 1 and/or 2
* Daybreakers? Still haven't watched this, but found it on Netflix today.
* Dredd - I watched about half of this in the cinema once and I'd like to finish it.
* Arrow - Still stuck on season three, episode 18 (or something). Oliver's just so annoyingly bossy..
* Grand Budapest Hotel - Feels like a spring movie to me.
* World War Z? Watched this around this time last year, which is why I might want to rewatch it in April.

8.12.15

Ambition for: December

I'm not really a fan of Christmas movies. However, I find myself feeling very excited to watch some of these in December:

Home Alone
The Holiday
Arthur Christmas
The Polar Express
You've Got Mail
A Christmas Carol (2009)
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
While You Were Sleeping

I'd also like to try, for the first time:

White Christmas
Mickey's Christmas Carol
Elf
Christmas in Connecticut
Lethal Weapon
The Muppet Christmas Carol

4.11.15

Ambition for: November

My main ambition is to prioritize better this month, so that I have time for all the things I love. Where movies are concerned, I'm really not sure what I want to watch. Here are some maybes:

* The last few episodes of Castle, season 3
* Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies (my dad's ordered the entire Extended Edition box set)
* Spectre
* Guardians of the Galaxy
* Red Eye
* San Andreas
* Jurassic World
* The Great Gatsby
* Pan

 It's getting dark around 4 PM now and I HATE it. I feel like punching anyone that says: "Make the best of it! Light candles. Drink hot chocolate.". FYI: If I want chocolate, I'll chew it. I'm not that old yet!

5.10.15

Ambition for: October

I'm suddenly very pumped to watch movies this month. I don't know what happened!

For my 2015 challenge, I want to watch:

* Red Eye
* La belle et la bête
* 127 Hours
* Empire State
* My Man Godfrey
* The Good Girl
* Season 3 of Castle (I'm about halfway through)
* Bowling For Columbine
* Australia

For the rest of the month, I hope to get to:

* Goodzilla (2014)
* Day After Tomorrow
* The Great Gatsby
* Prisoners
* Zodiac
* Only You

And since it turns out that the cinemas in my part of Sweden won't show The Gift after all, I may possibly go see either Everest or The Intern depending on what my family decides..

6.9.15

Ambition for: September

I want to finish:

* Castle, season 3
* Max Payne/Bodyguard/Primal Fear

I'd like these to be our picks for the Chocolatebunnymovieclub this month:

* Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
* The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

And finally, I want to watch:

* Snatch
* Mirror Mirror
* Chances Are
* Only You
* Strictly Ballroom

2.8.15

Ambition for: August

Even though I might have developed an allergy to grass this summer, I'm thankful for it! So much so, that I'm determined to go swimming at least once before it gets too cold. It's a little unclear how catching a cold will help pay homage to this summer but I just want one swim outside really, so I'm going with it. Here are some other things I want to do/watch this month:

* Watch Funny Face
* Finish my summer course
* Pick raspberries, cloudberries, blueberries and bake something using rhubarbs
* Rewatch season two of Elementary
* Celebrate my 31th birthday
* Watch something starring Gregory Peck
* Spend at least one day by the sea
* Take the canoe out on a stream somewhere
* Watch Crossroads (2002) with my mom and Julia
* Clean out my parents' garage
* Cook with more variation
* Watch Paper Towns in the cinema

1.7.15

Ambition for: July

July's usually the warmest month here in Sweden, but it doesn't really look that promising this year. There are things I'm gonna do however, regardless of the weather (am I rhyming unintentionally?):

* Celebrate my sister Hanna's 28th birthday (19/7)
* Go and see an outdoor play (4/7)
* Camp with my siblings (if we manage to find two rain-free days..)
* Finish my summer course at the university (at least the majority of it, since I take the exam in August)
* Go swimming (yeah, right!)
* Eat my weight in strawberries and cherries
* Listen to Mr. Big
* Unlock my bakery in Cooking Fever  I did, and then removed it, because I became too addicted..
* Play Mario Kart
* Help my mom and dad organize their storage properly
* Finish my library books before the 27th
* Sunbathe without dying from mosquitoes/pollen I'm gonna count 1 day for twenty minutes as a success!

Subsequently, my movie ambitions are quite modest this month:

* Body of Proof, season 2 (nope - they removed it from Viaplay.se)
* Elementary, season 3
* Paper Towns
* Terminator 5

If I'm able, I'd REALLY like to train this little dragon to walk on a leash too! Her current state of obedience is reduced to freaking out and then bolting into the nearest bush. Edit: Have to find and buy an escape proof harness first!

28.5.15

Ambition for: June

1. Things I've meant to watch in previous months:

* Australia
* Apocalypto
* Daybreakers
* Monsters University
* The Great Gatsby
* Max Payne

2. Things I might want to re-watch:

* Sherlock Holmes
* Life as We Know It
* The Grand Budapest Hotel
* Crossroads

3. Things I've never watched before:

* Pitch Perfect 2 in the cinema
* Season 2 of Unforgettable
* The Gambler
* Taken

28.4.15

Ambition for: May

If I watch some of these, I'll be content:

* Dumb and Dumber (since I watched Dumb and Dumber To in April and disliked it)
* Something with Leonardo DiCaprio - maybe Inception? Or Romeo+Juliet?
* Daybreakers
* Apocalypto (I just remember having to put my head between my legs during the sacrificial scenes..)
* Monsters University
* Home?
* Chances Are (the first Robert Downey, Jr. movie I watched but that was like.. 15 years ago now)
* The Pickup Artist/Only You?
* Oooh! The 4th Transformers! (because it was so bad that I need to re-watch it and reminisce)
* Ooooooh! Abduction!! (because it was so bad I laugh/cried the whole way through it with my sister Sara and her boyfriend Henrik (and I need to re-watch it and reminisce))
* L.A. Confidential (I've already started it, but I got bored..)

Not that I look forward to the pollen but summer is taking its time, it seems..

29.3.15

Ambition for: April

These movies reminds me of this time of the year and that's why I want to re-watch them:

* Pride and Prejudice/PS. I love you
* Enchanted
* Planet of the Apes/World War Z
* Meet the Parents (can be swapped out for Dumb and Dumber To (which I haven't watched))

Since Easter's coming up soon too, I want to watch Easter-y movies:

* Chicken Run
* Free Birds
* Lotta flyttar hemifrån (A Clever Little Girl Like Lotta 2) - it's based on one of Astrid Lindgrens's books and in this Lotta (among other things) celebrate Easter. We watch it every year!

Aaand if there's time, I still want to watch classics with Julia (mainly The Godfather).

This is the most wonderful time of the year! The sky goes ombre at night and I just feel.. aliiive again!

9.3.15

Ambition for: March

Do I even have a goal for March? I'm not feeling too hot at the moment (life stuff) and spring is sort of "springing" really early here in Sweden, so who knows if I'll even make time to watch that many movies this month?

If I feel like it:

* Exodus: Gods and Kings
* The Shawshank Redemption/Godfather (me and my sister Julia are planning to watch classics, that we've never watched before)
* Cinderella - in the cinema
* Elementary, season 1 (re-watch)

Best wishes,
The woman who does little else, but likes to kid herself that she actually does

What is happening? Last month, we had like 1,6 feet of snow in one day..

2.2.15

Ambition for: February

Since I've cleaned out my movie collection, I feel like re-watching them this month. I won't get through all 45 of them, though, but I'll start (I've organized them in alphabetical order, so I'll just watch "300" first and see how far I get).

Other than that, I really want to watch:

* Dracula untold
* Australia (my sister Sara's been begging me)
* The usual suspects (a re-watch, but I've forgotten almost everything)

And I really look forward to watching 50 shades of Grey with my sisters on the 13th. I just know we'll bond over how uncomfortable it'll be to watch that movie in the cinema - it looks like it's gonna be crowded too!

10.1.15

Ambition for: January (updated version)

January will be a Joel Edgerton-month! I'll start with the three movies I am most excited about (that I haven't watched yet):

* Open window (2006)
* Acolytes
* Wish you were here

and then I might re-watch King Arthur again (he was in The Thing too, but I couldn't finish it since my sister insisted on turning off all the lights in the living room while we watched it).

Feels eggciting!

5.1.15

Ambition for: January

I have no idea of what I want to watch in January! There are no exciting movie premieres this month and I'm still in a sort of "Christmas is over, against my will, so I'll stubbornly eat leftover candy from Christmas and watch Youtube"-phase. Besides something with Christian Bale in it (he's been one of my favorite actors for a long time and I spent several years trying to watch all his movies), I'd also like to try:

Things that my family have begged me to watch for years:

* Jurassic Park
* Warrior

Things that are finally out:

* The Equalizer

And, like last month, I want to continue to try to continue with:

* Revenge, season 2 (I'm taking a break from continuing to try to contiune with Vampire Diaries, for a while)

Good luck, to me!

3.12.14

Ambition for: December

I might watch some - all, or none of these things in December. What's clear though, is that I want to watch Christmas-y things:

* How the Grinch stole christmas
* Fawlty Towers
* White christmas

Less Christmas-y things:

* Perception, season 2
* Hobbit 3

And of course I want to continue with the series that I've spent the last six months working my way through:

* Vampire Diaries, season 1
* Revenge, season 2

Good luck, to me!
